Cow Appreciation Day – Chick Fil A – Free Meal

Chick Fil A is getting good at sending out some fun promotions and advertisements lately.

Right now they are advertising the “Cow Appreciation Day” at Chick fil A.

Cow Appreciation Day lands on Friday, July 13 this year.

What is Cow Appreciation Day?

Chick fil A has had a promotional campaign going on where they tell customers to “save cows” by eating at Chick fil A.  Cows are saved becasue…Chick fil A only sells chicken.  Get it?

How to Celebrate Cow Appreciation Day

This Friday, head into any Chick fil A restaurant dressed as a cow from head to toe and you’ll get a free meal.  Well, they want you to dress head to toe, but you can wear something small that represents a cow.

Free Chick fil A Meal

They aren’t announcing what meal it is, or at least I cannot find it.  But, I assume its the regular chicken sandwich meal which is totally worth dressing up like a cow for.

Company Info

Chick-fil-A has been a staple to Southern US fast food culture for quite some time now.  The expansions are just starting out in Southern California and the American Midwest.  The expansion among these areas is the new growth method being used by Chick-fil-A. They are now the second largest quick service chicken restaurants chains (one behind KFC) in the United States with 1,615 locations.

While Chick-fil-A began as a shopping mall food court type location, they have also expanded the types of locations that they offer to customers.  The first free standing location did not exist until 1986, but since then over 1,000 free standing locations have come into existence.  There are over a dozen drive through only locations and many licensing agreements with colleges, hospitals, and airports.

Chick-fil-A Coupons and Promotions

You might find out that Chick-fil-A does a lot of promotions where the first “x” amount of people who show up to a certain store will get something free or marked down considerably.  They do also provide plenty of Chick-fil-A coupons via email and advertisements in areas around their locations.  You can always check back on this website to find printable Chick-fil-A coupons as the newest and current coupons will be available via a link at the top of this article.

Chick-fil-A Menu Items

The main menu item from Chick-fil-A would be their chicken sandwich.  The chicken is cooked differently than other chicken sandwiches in the fast food industry.  They take an ACTUAL CHICKEN BREAST (not some weird goop like the competition), they hand bread them, and then pressure cook the chicken in 100% peanut oil.  The chicken is served on a buttered bun with dill pickle chips.  The sandwich is very plain, but full of flavor.

There are also different variations of the chicken sandwich.  They have the spicy sandwich, grilled sandwich, and even a breakfast chicken sandwich.  Another popular item at Chick-fil-A is their chicken nuggets.  Again they take ACTUAL chicken breast meat and pressure cook them to make bite size chicken nuggets.

Over the years they have introduced wraps, salads, desserts, breakfast items, and kids’ meals.  Two other items that make Chick-fil-A popular are both their waffle fries and their unique Chick-fil-A sauce.

College Football

Chick-fil-A has been sponsoring college football since 1994.   They have been the key sponsor for the Peach Bowl since that time.  This game is played in Atlanta (same city as Chick-fil-A headquarters) every year with a team from the ACC playing a team from the SEC.  The bowl game was renamed to be the Chick-fil-A Bowl in 2006.  Chick-filA has remained a key sponsor for the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 conferences of collegiate athletes.

Why is Chick-fil-A closed on Sundays?

Chick-fil-A considers closing down Sundays as part of their “recipe for success”.  The founder, Truett Cathy, decided to close the first location on Sundays in 1946 since week one.  He claimed that it was both a practical and a spiritual decision.  He made the decision that all Chick-fil-A locations should be closed on Sundays in order to give operators and restaurant employees a chance to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose.
