Have you ever wanted to stay in, but craved a Bloomin’ Onion from Outback Steakhouse or some Applebee’s quesadillas? Well yeah you could order for pick up, but that is so expensive and once in the restaurant, you might as well stay.
There are a lot of chefs and even some home cooks that have broken down the ingredients and preparations of some of the most popular meals at some of the biggest chain restaurants around.
I’d like to make a recommendation for a great recipe book that has some of these great recipes: Top Secret Restaurant Recipes: Creating Kitchen Clones from America’s Favorite Restaurant Chains
This recipe book was created by Todd Wilbur who got his start replicating recipes when he became determined to clone the Mrs. Field’s chocolate chip cookie when a recipe he was given didn’t come close. Todd eventually cracked the code and made a delicious chocolate chip cookie that tasted just like Mrs. Field’s and even had a similar texture.
Todd then got the taste for figuring out replica recipes and has been bringing his experiments to restaurants to find out if his clone recipes would match up against the originals in taste tests. This little hobby of his turned into a series of great recipe books that have sold millions of copies and got him on the New York Times Best Sellers’ List.
The book above that I recommended, Top Secret Restaurant Recipes, is his original recipe book with some of the following easy to follow recipes:
- Pizza Sticks
