La Nouba Discount Tickets – Cirque du Soleil Orlando

Again I’m posting something that is not a restaurant coupon, but it is a great deal that is being offered to my visitors, so why would I avoid posting about this one.

The last great deal that I posted like this got a huge response from the visitors who saved a lot of money on Jersey Boys tickets in Las Vegas.

Cirque du Soleil seems to be the newest form of stage entertainment that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.  La Nouba is the special show given for Disney visitors who are planning a trip to the Westside area of Downtown Disney in Orlando, FL.

For access to this discount special rate for La Nouba, click here or the image to the right.

Special Discount for Printable Restaurant Coupons visitors

If you were to go to the Cirque du Soleil website right now and order tickets for the show, most nights the price in red below would be your price.  With the discounted La Nouba tickets you will be eligible for the green prices:

Front and Center (adults) – $136.32 / No Current discount

Front and Center (children) – $108.36 / No Current discount

Category 1 (adults) – $120.35 / No Current discount

Category 1 (children) – $94.79 / No Current discount

Category 2 (adult) – $94.79 / $82.00

Category 2 (children) – $76.69 / $67.00

Category 3 (adult) – $77.75 / $69.00

Category 3 (children) – $61.77 / $55.00

The catch

There really isn’t much of a catch with this discount.  Part of the catch is you have to purchase the tickets in advance.  Not much of a catch there.

The other stipulation is that you have to get tickets for 9:00 showings only to be eligible for the discount.  This could be a little late for some of the children if you want to bring them along, but most of you should be on vacation so it should be OK.

Third, tickets are only good for shows Tuesday-Saturday.

No refunds either, so make sure you want to go.

About La Nouba – Cirque du Soleil Orlando

A door opens and two worlds collide. Enter the attic of make-believe, where the mundane meets the marvellous. Dreams and nightmares intertwine. La Nouba which calls on both individual and collective memory, is an unforgettable journey into a world at once threatening and exhilarating, frightening and familiar. La Nouba beckons to us, challenges us to uncover passions we thought we had lost long ago; to frolic in our childhood dreams and enter a place where the extraordinary transforms and overcomes the ordinary.

La Nouba is the meeting of two worlds poles apart: the fantastic world of the circus artists – the Cirques (circus people), sporting bright, fluorescent colours–and that of the Urbains (urbanites), who wear dark, monochromatic outfits. When these two worlds first make contact, the magic and amazing feats of the one set fire to the pale mundanity of the other.

IHOP Company Information

IHOP is the short way of saying the International House of Pancakes.  The IHOP company has grown from a single location in California to being an actual international giant with over 1,500 restaurants.  The restaurants span all 50 states in the United States, as well as international locations in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Originally this was intended to be a pancake and pancake type only restuarant, but over the years the business model has changed and you can now order lunch and dinner menu items at all IHOP locations worldwide.  99% of all IHOP locations are franchise owned and operated.  The parent company is DineEquity who also owns Applebee’s restaurants.

IHOP History

The first location in the history of IHOP was at 4301 Riverside Drive in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, California.  The location was just outside of the area of most of the major Hollywood Studios.  It opened up this restaurant in July of 1958 when the Los Angeles region was booming.  This location was referred to as “The International House of Pancakes”.  The acronym wasn’t widely used until years later.

The original concept called for pancakes and similar foods like blintzes and crepes from different regions around the world.  This is how the name “International” House of Pancakes came about.  They became well known for the variety of different flavor of syrups offered at the restaurant.

The growth of IHOP came extremely fast.  By 1960, just 2 years after opening the first International House of Pancakes, the owners began expanding with franchised locations.  Just a year later they became a publicly traded company under the name International House of Pancakes.

Then 3 years later, only 8 years old, they formed International Industries as the company began acquiring many franchised brands.  Some of these brands included Orange Julius, Love’s Wood Pit Barbecue, Golden Cup Coffee Shops, The Original House of Pies, and Wil Wright’s Ice Cream Shoppes.  Of course, the most successful brand they had was IHOP.

Then in 2007 after a lot of debate, IHOP made their biggest acquisition.  IHOP made an all cash buyout of Applebee’s from stockholders for $2.1 billion.  The new umbrella company DineEquity was formed.

IHOP Menu Items

The IHOP menu has grown from just pancakes and pancake type dishes to include many other fixtures for other meals and specials.  Breakfasts can include a variety of pancake options (obviously), crepes (sweet or savory), eggs, french toast, omelets, or a combination of the above.  Lunch and dinner menu items have been added with the majority of the meals appearing to be very diner-like in nature.  You can order burgers, soups, salads or sandwiches.  Hearty dinners were added for those with a bigger appetite and looking for meals like T-Bone Steaks, Grilled Tilapia Hollandaise, or Thick-Cut Bone-In Ham Dinner.

IHOP Corporate Information and Financials

IHOP’s corporate headquarters are based out of Glendale, California.  They currently employ well over 32,000 people internationally.  The stocks for this company are traded under DineEquity (DIN).

Domino’s Pizza Coupons 2012

Domino’s Pizza Coupons and Specials

Domino’s Gluten Free Pizza

Domino’s Company Information

Domino’s Pizza is the second largest pizza company in the United States.  They follow only Pizza Hut when it comes to number of locations and sales figures.  The company headquarters are in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Today, there are over 9.700 different Domino’s Pizza locations that can be found internationally.  They have locations in 70 countries and every one of the US states.

Domino’s main competitors are Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, and Little Caesar’s.

Domino’s Pizza History

The original location of the first Domino’s Pizza actually has an interesting story as to how it was bought.  There was a small pizza shop in Ypsilanti, Michigan.   Tom Monaghan and his brother, James, purchased this location in 1960.  The original shop was called DomiNicks.  The original purchase price was a down payment of just $75 and $900 to pay for the store.  A few months later James made a horrible business move and traded his share of the business to his brother Tom for a used Volkswagen Beetle.  Tom then renamed his restaurant Domino’s Pizza.

Within the first five years of business Domino’s pizza had their first franchised location open in Ypsilanti.  The original logo of Domino’s Pizza was supposed to add a new dot for every new store, but that idea was thrown out the window when they saw the expansion possibilities of the company.

Domino’s Menu Options

Domino’s Pizza has a menu that constantly adds new products, both as promotional items as well as new menu items that will stay permanently.

The original menu stuck with one pizza available only in two sizes.  They have changed this significantly over the years starting in 1989 when they added the Domino’s deep dish aka pan pizza to the menu.  Current pizza options include deep dish, hand tossed, crunchy think, and Brooklyn style.  Most of the pizzas are available in small, medium, large, and extra large.  Starting in 2012, Domino’s began serving gluten free pizza.

Then we have more advanced pizzas available at Domino’s.  Artisan pizzas were added to the menu in 2011 which offer a variety of flavors including chicken and bacon carbonara, spinach & feta, Tuscani salami & roasted veggie, and Italian sausage & pepper trio.

Pizza is the main focus, obviously, but there are many other Italian-American style foods added to the menu.  There are a variety of pastas available in bread bowls, sandwiches, breadsticks, boneless chicken (formely “kickers”), chicken wings, and desserts.

Domino’s 30 Minute Guarantee

In 1973, Domino’s implemented a guarantee that customers would receive their pizzas within 30 minutes of ordering it.  If the pizza was later than 30 minutes, it would be free to the customer.  The guarantee was dropped to give just $3 off of the order to customers in the mid-80s.

They got rid of the guarantee in the US and most others states in the 1990s.  Why did Domino’s get rid of the 30 minute guarantee?  Well it wasn’t safe, and it got costly for Domino’s.  In 1992 Domino’s was sued and had to pay out $2.8 million to a family of a woman that was killed by a Domino’s driver in Indiana.  The following year, another Domino’s drive crashed into a woman’s car.  The lawsuit awarded the woman $80 million, of which she accepted a $15 million payout.  That year they dropped the 30 minutes or less campaign as the public began to perceive Domino’s drivers as reckless.

Domino’s does still have a 30 minute guarantee in Mexico, Australia, India and Singapore.
